Peter Hyman
Co-Founder and Executive Head Teacher of School 21
Peter Hyman is Executive Head Teacher of School 21. He set up School 21 because he believes that we need a different way of schooling children if they are to be successful in the 21st century.
In 2003, following nine years as a strategist to Tony Blair, he left No. 10 to become a teaching assistant in a challenging Islington school. He wrote about his experiences in his book ‘1 out of 10’ where he compared political vision with the reality on the ground. He subsequently taught at Seven Kings, rated an outstanding school by Ofsted before joining Greenford High School. As Deputy Head and Head of Teaching and Learning at Greenford High School, he helped the school achieve excellent results and an "Outstanding" judgement from Ofsted.
Peter was on the Future Leaders Programme, a fast track course to headship for outstanding school leaders. He holds an NPQH (Headteacher qualification).
