Karyn Allee
Associate Professor of Elementary Education
Karyn Allee, PhD, is an associate professor of elementary education at Mercer University and founder of the Joyful Learning Collaborative. A former primary-grades teacher and instructional coach in Title I schools, she brings more than 30 years in education to her work on play-based, joyful learning as an equity lever for all children. Her research and policy writing connect early learning scholarship to prekindergarten to grade 3 classrooms, and she serves as associate editor of Early Childhood Education Journal and Journal of Education.
