Jill Fletcher
AVID College Readiness Teacher
Jill Fletcher is a poet and AVID college readiness teacher. Jill advocates for student and teacher voice. Her students won the seventh annual Hawaiʻi E Ola Pono Campaign award in the middle school division for their efforts to promote a positive school culture. Jill has supported teachers in various school-level leadership roles. She is a National Board Certified teacher, a Hope Street Group Hawaiʻi state fellow, and the Hawaiʻi higher education policy analyst for NCTE. Jill holds a BA in English from Santa Clara University, and an MA in English and creative writing and a teaching certificate in secondary ELA from the University of Hawaiʻi. Her book of poems, Aftermath, deals with the intersection of American imperialism, militarization, and public education in Hawaiʻi.
