Emily Barbour
Teacher
I teach first grade in Ypsilanti, Michigan, where I’m currently in my fourth year of teaching. I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and am now pursuing my master’s in Educational Equity, Justice, and Social Transformation part-time. My work centers on creating trauma-informed, connection-focused classroom environments that support both academic growth and social-emotional development. I am passionate about equity-oriented teaching practices and helping young learners feel safe, seen, and ready to learn.
