Anna M. Hurst

I am a life long learner and educator who believes in continual growth. My role as an administrator allows me the opportunity to teach students, teachers, and parents on a daily basis. It is my philosophy that I am a guide by the side that helps facilitate growth. My role as a guide looks different in each classroom and with each teacher because it is based upon their need at the time. It is an exciting way to create change through being their partner in education.

I am extremely privileged to be working under the leadership of Kathleen Decker. We are piloting a model that allows her proven success at Bracken to be duplicated in under achieving schools. With her leadership and guidance I am helping to create the community change and establish growth at Long. Part of the learning process has taught me how to establish community partners, create consistency within the school driven by data, establish new programs, and build a community within the school. I am excited that under the direction of Ms. Decker we are changing lives one school at a time.
