Allie Thrower

Elementary School Teacher and Adjunct Instructor

As a year 14 educator, and after five years out of the classroom as an instructional coach, Allie Thrower has returned to the third grade classroom for the 2024–2025 school year. Allie holds an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction and a B.A. in Elementary Education. In 2023, she was awarded the John T. Wardlaw Continuous Improvement Impact Award for teaching and leading, and in 2020 she was named her district’s Teacher of the Year. As an adjunct instructor, Allie currently teaches at the local university in the College of Education. As a third grade teacher and a book enthusiast, she incorporates literacy into all parts of her classroom and teaching. Ultimately, her goal is to empower students with the tools they need not only to read but to interpret and engage with the world around them.
